In a session of the Education and Training Authority in the Arab Ahwaz, the representative of the Iranian occupation regime, the conservative Seyyed Mohammad Reza Mowalizadeh, admitted that Ahwaz has many enormous potentials in scientific levels, but they are not utilized properly.
The words of Mowalizadeh sparked a lot of expressions from the Arab Ahwazi people and opened deep wounds for many. Many began to talk about the miserable conditions of schools and education in the Arab Ahwaz compared to other provinces in the geography of Iran.
When talking about the conditions of schools, for example, the deteriorating situation of schools in the city of Abadan, which has the largest oil refinery controlled by Iran under the occupation regime, some schools are roofed with wood and straw, making them unsuitable for sitting underneath.
In addition to the lack of a good blackboard that allows the teacher to write on, the textbooks contain many historical inaccuracies about Arab Ahwaz and seek to erase its Arab identity.
The suffering of the Ahwazi people is worsening day by day, as there are large oil companies on their lands, and they cannot even pass in front of
their gates. Even if they work there, they are oppressed.
And the living conditions are not any better; prices are unstable, and there is no oversight from the Iranian regime's workers. Not to mention the cleanliness issues, the dilapidated streets, and the open sewage drains that swallow pedestrians in the middle of the streets.
